February 1998 Notebook Entries

Notebook entry, Feb. 23, 1998

Finally finished EP & Hollywood Part II essay.  The creation of celebrities and the fascination of the morbid.  Sent the work to my editor, John Martin, and it should be up in lights by March 15, 1998.

The three line ad for Evolution's Voyage that I placed in the back of Wired magazine looks nice.  Not big or fancy.  It has been a busy week for evolutionary psychology.  Helen Fisher, the anthropologist from Rutgers was interviewed by Petter Jennings on ABC News, along with an insert piece of David Buss. The comments were about the chemistry and strategies of Valentine's Day by modern day lovers based on biology.  Also in Wired magazine this month is a one paged interview of Steven Pinker.

While analyzing the DSM-IV over this past holiday season in search of citations for the existence of group social interactions that affect individual behavior from an evolutionary perspective, I made an observation that I thought to be most interesting.  It has to do with movement and internal thought of the two genders.   This is the work I noted in the Dec.15th, 97 entry. The observation can be found at:  http://www.evoyage.com/genderdifferences.htm
